WHO ARE WE?

Charter School Accounting and Financial Solutions provides financial reporting and data analysis for customized business intelligence.

Our services include school support services for public and private schools, including accounting, budgeting, finance, administration, and property development. CSAFS has been providing services to charter schools since 2004.

What do we do?

Our Services include but are not limited to the following.

Accounting and Bookkeeping.

  • Creating a chart of accounts that aligns with GAAP and GASP principles and helps make financial reporting meaningful and valuable for decision-making.
  • Recording and reconciling all transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Maintain all the documentation in the cloud file-sharing software and in the accounting software itself so that they are easily accessible at the time of audits.
  • Our accounts payable solution is end-to-end. We take care of all the payment-related activities, from receiving a bill to the payment.
  • We have tools that enable the approving authorities to sign the payment checks remotely through a secured Internet connection.
  • We provide an online PO system that streamlines the purchasing process and supports actual to-budget analysis before purchasing decisions are made.
  • Prepare bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Administer and perform the month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • We help our clients establish suitable standard operating procedures to minimize the risk of accounting-related errors and omissions.

Reporting and Budgeting

  • We prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements. This includes the production of these reports in GASB format for charter schools.
  • We deliver monthly projections for the year, which helps the management to make informed decisions. This includes a detailed historical income and expense data analysis to predict future inflows and outflows. We incorporate management inputs and our professional judgment to make these predictions as realistic as possible. These reports also serve as an annual budget.
  • Monitoring cash flow and creating cash flow forecasts so management can better understand the cash requirements projected to year-end.
  • We prepare comprehensive facility development budgets for presentation to lenders and property owners.

Communication and Coordination

  • We liaise between the client and Auditors/CPAs to ensure smooth and timely audits.
  • We manage relations with facility developers and lenders as requested by the school board or executive.
  • We help to identify and source facility funding.
